what is theark

theark.nyc is a two-week creatives residency program in Nairobi, Kenya which brings together an African and non-African member from the global creative community.  The residency is a place where peers share, learn and inspire unthought of sense and sensibilities of culture and artistic appreciation.

The residency - cohort curated

The inaugural program is slated for August 2022. The 3C’s (communicate, collaborate and create) is the DNA of theark.nyc. Upon the finalization of the cohort the work begins.  The cohort is given the freedom and responsibility to design their environment and shape their time together. The residency is the actualization of an experience created by the participants.  The works that will be forged whilst in Nairobi is a physical and/or digital articulation of the journey to which begins months in advance.
